Dr. Kerry-Ann Williams

Psychiatric Advisor

Dr. Kerry-Ann Williams is a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. She earned her MD from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency at Brown University. Currently practicing in Massachusetts, she serves as Chief Medical Officer at the Justice Resource Institute and holds a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School, where she provides clinical instruction to psychiatry residents and fellows.

Dr. Williams is dedicated to advancing mental health access and equity. She is also the host of the podcast Black Mental Health Matters with Dr. Kerry-Ann, which explores critical issues affecting the mental health and wellbeing of Black communities and is available on multiple podcasting platforms.

Her specialty areas include trauma-informed care, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the treatment of anxiety, depression, and insomnia using psychopharmacology and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Before becoming Chief Medical Officer at Justice Resource Institute (JRI), she served as medical director for children’s residential programs and oversaw psychiatric care across multiple levels in the agency. As Psychiatric Advisor for Elevate, she guides our psychiatric policies, treatment standards, and ensures clinical care is informed by best practices.
